Perth Open 2023: Rumble Edition Supported By Innova
Alexander Heights Disc Golf Course
October 1, 2023
Welcome to The Perth Open 2023: The Rumble Edition Supported by Innova!
PDGC’s flagship event the Perth Open returns. Assistant TD Patrick Willson has cooked up a tightly wooded extended 18-hole layout at Alexander Heights that is sure to be a challenge. There will be 2 rounds of 18 followed by a championship final 6 holes for MPO/FPO/MP40 and MA1.
The event will take place on Sunday October 1st with the players meeting and a social event to go down on the afternoon prior, Saturday, September 30 from 1pm to 4 pm (More info to follow)
This year The Perth Open will also encompass the Rumble Tradition. An event where the disc golf ‘gangs’ of Western Australia gather together for a yearly battle to claim bragging rights for the year! When registering for the event you may nominate a “gang”, a maximum of 10 players per gang is allowed and the winners will be decided by the combined total of the best 5 scores from each “gang”.
The Perth Open is a PDGA-sanctioned tournament that will double as a showdown to determine which Perth ‘gang’ is the best!
Come down, nominate your ‘gang’ if you have one (you don’t need one to play).
Whichever ‘gang’ wins the day will have bragging rights and their name engraved on the beautiful trophy and go down into Disc Golf Rumble History as this year’s greatest!
What’s the same?
- The tournament will run like a normal PDGA tourney.
- Play will be two rounds of 18 holes, plus a final 6 holes for MPO/FPO/MP40/MA1 (The new holes starting from hole 2)
- Players will play in their normal division (MPO, MA1, FA1 etc).
How is this different from any other tournament?
- Before the competition, players will be asked if they would like to nominate an affiliation with a ‘gang’ of Perth.
- These are the loose playing groups that have organically formed in Perth.
- Examples are: Consistently Inconsistent (raining champs), Turkeys, Mundy Mob, SOS, Crabs (Rocky/Mandurah Crew),78’s
- You can only nominate one ‘gang’ to be affiliated with and each ‘gang ‘ can only consist of 10 total (Which the TD will evenly split them up if there are more than 10).
- YOU DO NOT HAVE TO NOMINATE A ‘gang’ IN ORDER TO PLAY – Lone wolves are welcome!
- Nominate your gang in the form above registration
